1. What is PNW Parent Education, and who is it for?
PNW Parent Education is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families navigate the ever-changing challenges and concerns of raising children, with a primary focus on elementary school through the teenage years. We use the word “parent” from its Latin roots as a verb, meaning our programs are open to everyone involved in shaping, caring for, and raising children—including parents, guardians, caretakers, and educators.
2. How much do your parenting events cost to attend?
All of our educational events are **100% free** to attend. We believe that better-informed families make stronger communities, so we remove financial barriers by partnering with donors and sponsors to bring the nation’s top experts to our community at no cost to you.
3. What kind of topics and speakers do you feature?
We collaborate with local community organizations to identify timely and relevant topics that matter most to parents. Our events feature high-caliber national experts speaking on crucial areas such as youth mental health, digital safety and social media boundaries, substance use prevention (like alcohol and vaping education), emotional regulation, and managing academic or social stress. Many of our events are held virtually and include interactive Q&A sessions or group discussions so you can walk away with practical, concrete tools.
4. How can I stay updated so I don't miss an upcoming presentation?
Families are busier than ever, so we make staying connected easy. You can sign up for our newsletter directly on our website to receive email notifications about upcoming events. For the most seamless experience, you can also use our **"one-click calendar add"** feature to sync the PNW Parent Education Google Calendar directly to your personal view, ensuring all upcoming dates are automatically updated for you.
5. How can I support your organization's mission?
Because our events cost thousands of dollars to produce (including speaker fees and webinar hosting costs), we rely entirely on the generosity of our community. You can support us in two ways:
Donate: As an officially recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all charitable donations are tax-deductible. Any amount helps us keep our high-quality education free for all.
Volunteer: We are run by an amazing volunteer staff and are always looking for help with marketing, updating PTA contact lists, graphic creation for social media, flyer distribution, and assistance with our annual fundraising events, like our Annual Trunk Show.
