RESOURCES | Amy Lang - BIRDS & BEES for PARENTS: Supporting Your Middle & High Schooler
Thanks again to Amy Lang, MA of Birds & Bees & Kids for a fabulous talk about how to do “the talk” with your kids!
We talked about using a framework of the “5 Ps” that should be considered when talking to your kids about sex.
Personally/Emotionally Ready - are they emotionally ready?, self-knowledge, having sex changes things
Pressure - sources: friends, media messages
Practical - ways to be sexual, Birth control, Fertility of males vs female, STIs
Pleasure - the goal, masturbation
Porn - exposure to porn (it’s everywhere), how to address porn
Here is the recording from our discussion with Amy, and a list of resources courtesy of Amy.
